Team Bianca proudly supports rare blood and heart disease research at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. This is in honour and memory of my 18 year old daughter Bianca who died from Haemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), rare cancer-like blood disorder of the immune system. Bianca also had a rare heart disease, Loeys-Dietz syndrome (LDS).
Our Team Bianca Charity Night ‘Boogie for Bianca’ will be held on Saturday 13 October 2018 at The Historic Como Hotel.
The contribution donated by Belle Fever will be used as a prize in our Silent Auction or Charity Raffle. This will allow us to continue to raise vital funds and assist Team Bianca in achieving our aim of making sure no more young lives like my daughter Bianca’s are lost unnecessarily.
Close to 2 million Australians will have a rare disease at some stage during their lives, of which 400,000 of these will be children. There are more than 8,000 known rare diseases and 80% of rare diseases affect children and most begin in childhood and continue throughout life.
Of deaths in children aged less than 1 year 35% are due to rare diseases and of deaths in children aged between 1 and 15 years, 10% are due to rare diseases.
Rare disease research unfortunately gets very little funding here in Australia and rare disease research into HLH and LDS receives no government funding. All proceeds raised from our Charity Night will go to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead to fund these vital research projects and clinical trials into rare heart and blood diseases such as HLH. This is essential so more young lives like Bianca’s are lost.
Personalised jewellery by Belle Fever would mean…….. that Team Bianca could make a difference and through the rare disease research being carried out at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and with your help we could save lives.
Belle Fever fits with Team Bianca’s audience on Facebook and our attendants at the Charity Night as the jewellery appeals to all ages as either a gift or to be worn themselves. 76% of our 1,200 fans on Facebook are women and 56% of those are aged between 18 and 34 and they all love personalised handcrafted jewellery that is unique and captures beautiful and treasured memories forever.
At the Charity Night our 200 attendees will be looking for fantastic unique jewellery to bid on in our Silent Auction. If the jewellery was a prize in our Charity Raffle I know it would be extremely popular as everyone loves high quality jewellery that speaks from the heart.
